Applying for Leave

This guide explains how employees can request time off using the Leave Management system.

Accessing the Leave Dashboard

URL /org/ORG_CODE/attendance/leaves/dashboard/

The Leave Dashboard shows your current leave balances and provides quick access to apply for leave.

Steps to Apply for Leave

Check Your Balance

Before applying, verify you have sufficient leave balance in the category you want to use. The dashboard shows available days for each leave type.

Click "Apply Leave"

Click the Apply Leave button on your dashboard or navigate to My Leave → Apply

Select Leave Category

Choose the type of leave you're requesting (e.g., Casual Leave, Medical Leave).

Choose Dates

Select the start and end dates for your leave. The system will calculate the total days automatically.

Enter Reason

Provide a brief reason for your leave request. This helps the approver understand your request.

Submit Request

Review your request and click Submit. Your request status will change to "Pending".

Viewing Your Requests

URL /org/ORG_CODE/attendance/my/requests/

View all your leave requests with their current status:

  • Filter by status (Pending, Approved, Rejected, All)
  • View request details
  • Cancel pending requests

Cancelling a Request

You can cancel a leave request while it's still pending:

  1. Go to My Leave Requests
  2. Find the pending request
  3. Click Cancel
  4. Confirm the cancellation
After Cancellation

When you cancel a pending request, the reserved days are immediately returned to your available balance.

Understanding Your Balance

Your leave balance consists of:

Available

Days you can currently use for leave requests

Pending

Days in pending requests (reserved but not yet approved)

Used

Days already taken (approved leave)

Total Allocated

Your annual entitlement (may be pro-rated)

Tips for Successful Requests

Best Practices
  • Submit requests as early as possible for planned leave
  • Provide clear reasons to help approvers understand your needs
  • Check the holiday calendar to avoid requesting leave on holidays
  • For extended leave, discuss with your supervisor before submitting
  • Keep track of your balance, especially for monthly accrual types
